The CLARA is a circular, structured tote bag with an oversized handle and logo embossed on the front, made by hand in Los Angeles from premium Italian calfskin. Following a long tradition in the fashion industry of designers naming handbags after the women who inspire them, Mr. Saturday’s designer and founder -- Joey Gollish -- is reinterpreting this tradition as an opportunity to highlight and support the causes, contributions, and work of the handbags’ namesakes.
Mr. Saturday will be donating a portion of the proceeds from all CLARA bag sales to WOMANKIND (https://www.iamwomankind.org/), an organization that works with survivors of gender-based violence to rise above trauma and build a path to healing. WOMANKIND brings critical resources and deep cultural competency to help Asian communities find refuge, recovery, and renewal, helping survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence rise above trauma with a dedicated team of 70 staff and 150 volunteers collectively who speak 18+ Asian languages and dialects. Importantly, though the organization is an expert in serving Asian communities, their services are valuable and available to all.
